Sportsbook Rules

These rules explain how wagers are accepted, graded and settled. They exist so that every outcome is decided by a published rule rather than by a judgement call. Where a specific sport has its own rules, those take precedence for that sport.

General rules

  • Account holders are responsible for their wagers — Once a wager is confirmed it cannot be changed or cancelled by the account holder. Check your bet slip before you confirm.
  • Odds at time of placement apply — A wager is settled at the odds displayed when it was accepted, not at any later price.
  • Obvious errors may be voided — Wagers accepted at a palpably incorrect price — a misposted line, an inverted favourite, a market left open after an event started — may be voided and stakes returned.
  • Official results govern settlement — Wagers are graded using the official result published by the governing league or body, not by broadcast or third-party scores.
  • One account per person — Duplicate accounts, or accounts opened on behalf of another person, may be closed and wagers voided.
  • Minimum age 18 — Accounts are subject to age and identity verification. Wagers placed by minors are void.

Settlement and grading

  • Games must go the required distance — Most sports require a minimum amount of play for wagers to stand — commonly 55 minutes in football and basketball, and 5 innings (4½ if the home team leads) in baseball. Shorter events are void.
  • Pushes are refunded — A result landing exactly on the number is a push. The stake is returned.
  • Overtime counts unless stated — Overtime and extra time count toward sides and totals unless a market explicitly says regulation only. Soccer full-time markets exclude extra time and penalties.
  • Statistical corrections — Wagers are settled on the official result at the time of grading. Corrections published after settlement do not normally reopen a graded wager.
  • Grading errors — If a wager is graded in error, the sportsbook will correct the settlement in either direction once identified.

Postponed, suspended and cancelled events

  • Postponed events — If an event is postponed and not completed within the timeframe for that sport, wagers are void and stakes returned.
  • Suspended events — If an event is suspended and resumed within the applicable timeframe, wagers stand and are settled on the final result.
  • Venue changes — A change of venue normally voids wagers where home advantage was material to the price, in particular a switch to a neutral site.
  • Rescheduled dates — Where a market is priced for a specific date, a change of date voids the wager unless the market explicitly covers the rescheduled fixture.

Parlays, teasers and round robins

  • Every leg must win — A parlay pays only if all legs are graded as winners.
  • Voided legs are removed — If a leg is void or a push, it is removed and the parlay is recalculated at the reduced number of legs.
  • A two-leg parlay reduced to one — Becomes a straight wager on the remaining leg at its original odds.
  • Correlated legs may be restricted — Combinations where one leg materially affects another may be blocked, repriced, or voided if accepted in error outside same game parlay pricing.
  • Teaser pushes — Unless stated otherwise, a push in a teaser reduces the teaser by one leg. A teaser reduced below the minimum number of legs is void.

Props and futures

  • Player must participate — Unless the market states otherwise, player props are void if the player takes no part in the event.
  • Partial participation counts — If a player participates at all, the prop stands, including if they leave through injury.
  • Futures are not refunded for non-participation — A futures wager on a competitor who withdraws, is injured or is transferred is normally a loser, not a void.
  • Dead heats — Where two or more selections tie, dead heat rules apply: the stake is divided by the number of tied selections and settled at full odds on that portion.

Live betting

  • Prices change constantly — If the odds move between selection and confirmation, the wager may be re-offered at the new price or declined.
  • Delays are possible — Live markets rely on data feeds that may lag the broadcast. Wagers placed after a materially relevant event has occurred may be voided.
  • Cash out is discretionary — Cash out is offered on eligible wagers at the sportsbook’s discretion and may be unavailable or suspended without notice, particularly during in-play stoppages.
  • Accepted cash out is final — Once a cash out is accepted, the wager is settled at that amount regardless of the eventual result.

Rules FAQ

What happens if a game is postponed?

If the event is not completed within the timeframe applicable to that sport, wagers are void and stakes returned in full.

Does overtime count for my bet?

Yes, for sides and totals in most sports, unless the market specifically states regulation time only. Soccer full-time markets are the main exception, as they exclude extra time and penalties.

What happens if a leg of my parlay is void?

The void leg is removed and the parlay is recalculated with the remaining legs at their original odds.

What if my prop player does not play?

Player props are void and stakes returned if the player takes no part in the event. If the player participates at all, the prop stands.

Can a bet be cancelled after I place it?

Not by the account holder. The sportsbook may void a wager accepted at an obviously incorrect price or in breach of these rules.

How long do I have to dispute a settlement?

Contact customer support as soon as possible. Grading errors are corrected in either direction once verified against the official result.
